1998 ARCHIVE - Introducing New Warehouse Systems

From time to time in the history of any business, there's comes a need to upgrade and improve the efficiency of its operations. One consequence of Windhorse entering a 'period of consolidation', was to bring some much needed attention to improving its warehouse and computer systems. The most substantial thing introduced at the time was XAL, a computer software programme that integrated all the warehouse processes and functions with those of Accounts on one operating system. Smoothing out the numerous minor wrinkles and major hiccups in this new system, proved more time consuming, exasperating, not to mention costly for the business, than many folk fore-sore at the time. Thankfully, not everything proved quite so challenging to implement.
