The first Buddhafield Festival was held 1997, the year before these photos. It very quickly established itself on the summer festival circuit, and the numbers attending grew in size year on year. Here in 1998 they were still in a field near Shepton Mallet. Every since a regular bunch of Windhorse folk head down to the South West, for a week or so of practise, rituals, open fires, hot tubs and socialising in the great outdoors.

ReplyDeleteI am pretty certain I and my 3 yr old sons came to the 1998 Buddhafield but the doc showing the 1999 Festival seems to have the same tree in it.
So was the 1998 one held at the back of the Glastonbury Healing Field?
i want to know cos their father swears they must have been older than 3 at the time - I disagree. 98 was incredibly hot. Whatever, would you like the photos for the scrapbook? Mainly of the kids but also the dressed tree/shrine.
